Pool loaded

During our time in Tenerife this year a swimmingpool will be installed on Deck 8. Here a picture of the swimming pool being loaded onto deck 8.

Christmas 2009

Our first Christmas on board the Africa Mercy. Previous years we've gone to the Netherlands to visit Family during the Christmas days. This year we stayed on board and enjoyed the 'ships' traditions. Ananda and Andre went to visit the Russian training ship docked just in front of us and Christmas eve we had a lovely dinner with turkey & ham and for dessert pecan pie.

In the evening we all put our shoes outside our cabin to find lots of presents in the morning. At Christmas day had a big brunch with different bread, cheeses, lots of fresh fruit and delicious cakes. In the afternoon we went for a walk to the park and playarea, all in all we had a great day.

Whales, Dolphins, Waterspouts

Wow, what a sail so far. Yesterday when we went for dinner Andre said :"Mam, there is a tornado in the sky". It turned out to be a waterspout, I have never seen that before.

Then just after dinner we saw dolphins, sperm whales and of course the ever present flying fish.

Just now, while I'm sitting here and look out of the window in my cabin I see more whales. God is certainly blessing us this trip with showing off His awesome creation.

Leaving Benin

After months in Cotonou, Benin we left Tuesday morning around 11:00. It was quite the sight to see us leave behind a gaping hole in the dock where we have been for the last 10 months. We are currently sailing through the Atlantic towards the Canary Islands.
